About Fortune Resort Bay Island Hotel
One of the world's last outposts of un-spoilt, virgin, natural rain forest islands, the Andaman & Nicobar are a string of 300-odd islands in the Bay of Bengal. It is a fantasy world of silver sands, clear blue seas, coral reefs, swaying palms and on the other side, tropical forests, volcanic mountains and a gently undulating landscape. Overlooking the Bay of Bengal, Fortune Hotel Bay Island blends discreetly into the landscape, built almost entirely of Padouk wood, the beautiful red timber that is found on the Andaman Islands. Designed by Charles Correa, the architectural style of the hotel reflects the native life of the Islands and offers you a getaway with a pace that is genuinely relaxed and unhurried - early morning swims, long lazy afternoons, spectacular sunsets and late candlelit dinners

City Information
Port Blair, the capital city of the Andaman Islands, consisting of more than 572 islands and islets is spread over 8,249 sq km of the Indian Ocean. It's that rare phenomenon: an un-spoilt beach resort, whose principal attractions are the clear sapphire waters of the sea, the golden shores, the breathtaking coral formations, the flora and fauna, the endlessly fascinating marine life and the native people.
More than 90% of the islands are dense forests and the bright green of the tropical vegetation gives the islands an emerald glow. The rustle of salt-laden winds through the coconut trees, the rush and murmur of the ceaseless waves, the rich melodies of birdsong… are all that disturb nature's tranquility.
To water sports enthusiasts, the Andaman Islands lay out a rich spread of parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling and kayaking.
