City Information

A part of the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan, Devi Garh offers ample scope for sightseeing.

Udaipur, a mere 40 minutes' drive away, is considered one of the most beautiful cities in India, and was the last capital of the state of Mewar. Founded in 1567 by Maharana Udai Singh on the bank of Lake Pichola, Udaipur is a city of palaces, gardens and lakes. The Lake Palace and the beautiful City Palace (part of which has been converted into a museum housing the largest collection of crystal in the world) are just two of Udaipur's main attractions.

Eklingji is a temple complex consisting of 108 temples built of sandstone and marble, dating back to 734 A.D and is a mere 5 kilometers away.

Nagda offers a cluster of Temples that have intricate stone carvings and are in close proximity to a lotus pond. This attraction is also close at hand to guests at Devi Garh since it is only 6 kilometers away.

Nathdwara is a little further afield being 24 kilometers away. This Vaishnava place of worship was built in the 18th century and is one of India's most renowned shrines to Shri Nathji (the Hindu God Krishna)

Ranakpur can be covered in a comfortable day-excursion from Devi Garh, being only 110 kilometers away. An excellent example of Indian workmanship, these Jain temples are known for their exquisite carving. The temple complex includes 1,444 carved pillars, no two of which are alike.

Kumbhalgarh is the most important fort in Rajasthan after Chittorgarh. Built by Maharana Kumbha in the 1400s, the fort, with its seven huge gates, perches atop the Aravalis and is a must-see for those interested in history. Again, a day excursion is suggested since the fort is a travel distance of 108 kilometers.
