Finding an accommodation in India can be a tough proposition, if you are a first timer to the country. More than that, it is very essential to know exactly what to do when you are in a precarious situation. India is a country quite different from whatever you have seen or experienced till now and that difference makes it imperative to follow some good tips and prepare yourself to face any eventuality.

Remember these points while coming to India and you might stay out of trouble:

1. Book your hotel well in advance, especially if you are coming to India during the high season.
   
   
2. India has at least two high seasons and tariff also changes according. For the places in Indian Himalayas, the peak season is from April to June. It is impossible to get a good accommodation during this time if you don’t have a prior reservation. For the northern Indian plain and other parts of the country, September to March marks the high season.
   
   
3. Always book your accommodation through a reliable travel agent or tour operator like Indian Holiday Pvt. Ltd., which is recognized by the Government of India and member of leading trade groups like PATA (Pacific Association of Travel Agents) and IATO (Indian Association of Tour Operators).
   
   
4. Remember to have all your travel documents in place, as we as well as the hotel you are staying at will require copies of them.
   
   
5. Please do remember the Check In and Check Out times of the hotels as not to fall in any problem while you are checking out.
   
   
6. If you have any valuables with you, please take care of them. Don’t left them carelessly in your hotel room or anywhere else.
