The Doon School, Welham's Boys and Girls School, Indian Institute of Petroleum and Rangers College, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology and its museum and the Forest Research Institute are places worth visiting in Dehradun. At some distance from Dehradun the Kalinga Edicts, Lachhiwala, the Robbers Cave, The Botanical Gardens, Tapovan, Shenshai Ashram, Shiv Temple make excellent excursions.
