Vadodara/Baroda is the cultural capital of Gujarat, rich amalgam of various cultures held together by the heritage of the erstwhile royal state of the Gaekwads. Vadodara/Baroda is home to the automobile, engineering, chemical and various other industries. For the tourist Vadodara/Baroda offers several palaces, museums and parks. One of the landmarks of Vadodara/Baroda happens to be the Sayaji Bagh that houses the Baroda Museum, Art Gallery, Planetarium and a zoo. At the Baroda Museum you must check out the collection of artifacts including Indian sculptures, ancient manuscripts and Egyptian antiquities. At the art gallery the Mughal miniatures and some works of European masters have been displayed. Vadodara/Baroda also has the Maharaj Fateh Singh Museum that attracts several tourists owing to the royal collection of copies of European masters, Far Eastern Art and contemporary Indian works.
