About Cardamon County Resort

Welcome to nature's treasure trove at Cardamom County Plantation Theme Resort, nestled amidst the forests of the Periyar Tiger Reserve - one of the best-managed Tiger Reserves in India - any naturalist's dream. To partake in this nature's bounty, Cardamom County invites you for a wilderness and nature holiday like you have never experienced before!

We at Cardamom County go further than the rest in letting you explore the virgin beauty of the rain forests, trekking through the depth of a tropical jungle for a view Periyar's magnificent wildlife at close quarters or visiting one of the myriad spice plantations nearby. We believe in a mix of old-fashioned hospitality and contemporary amenities to make your stay with us truly memorable.

The Periyar Tiger Reserve situated within the confines of the Western Ghats in the Southern Indian state of Kerala, is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world. The picturesque lake in the heart of the sanctuary spans an area of 55 sq km. This lake, which initially led to the submersion of large tracts of forestland, however became an excellent sanctuary for wildlife, which includes Asiatic elephants, gaur (bison), tigers, leopards and bears among others. In 1975 Periyar forests were declared as a tiger reserve under the Project Tiger. Thekkady, the tourist zone of Periyar Tiger Reserve, is the embarkation point for visits to various parts of the park on boats for wildlife viewing. The terrain ranges from hilly to flat grassland areas at the edges of the lakes. The vegetation is of moist evergreen type.
